About Me

I provide coaching and guidance to help you overcome life obstacles and achieve those goals that you truly desire. As a Certified Practitioner I also provide Havening Techniques – for the healing of memories and emotions through touch.

Working from my seaside home and office, my goals in life to NOW have been answered.

The journey wasn’t a cruisy fast lane highway. I took many detours, avoiding obstacles, fears, limiting beliefs, relationship issues and a few flat tyres (that needed blown up with motivation). Even my doubting self-worth and self-esteem would raise its ugly head and try and sabotage. Delaying gratification, perseverance, and not always having things go my way, have been character building. Yes, it has made me the person I am today, laugh lines on my face and a lot of wisdom they might say. Being curious and a love for learning I am now concentrating on coaching and mentoring individuals like you from all walks of life, all ages and groups. To make a difference in their life’s to get the inside-out and reach their potential and achieve those dreams.

Here’s how I started out.

Growing up in a small town called Otautau in Western Southland, New Zealand my life has been a journey of self-discovery.  With no role models or mentors to guide me I took the route of following my big sister and joining the banking industry.

Showing natural leadership (and no qualifications), I got the opportunity to lead a team of banking clerks at the age of 21.

After some travel overseas I worked for the government at Inland Revenue Department in Invercargill, New Zealand. Curiosity and wanting to learn new things, made me push boundaries within myself, taking on unknown territory. As a people leader I discovered I had resilience, and other attributes that would in turn support my staff to grow and reach their potential.

Then one day I got the opportunity to become a facilitator/trainer for a week long communication skills course. Doubting my ability my training manager told me that the reason why they wanted me, was that I understood and had empathy when others struggled and knew how to get them over the hurdle. I was in my element running those courses and my passion for assisting people to reach excellence had begun.

From here I got a promotion into Training and Development and my love for wanting to know what made people tick was really launched. After several promotions in this area, attending courses for personal development and leadership I left the organisation to launch my own consultancy coaching and mentoring business.

The areas I focused on were Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), behavioural science, transformational coaching, personality profiling, leadership and communication.

In addition, my other careers have included establishing a retail business in Queenstown, and running my own commercial beauty distribution business. This exposed me to setting up from green fields (installing a values-based, innovative and responsive business), Working with international companies which required overseas business travel and building a sales team.  I spent a number of years in Project Management working on large government change initiatives, this really built my people skills, time management and organisation skills. Consultancy work brought out my initiative and creativity to introduce fresh ways of doing things. Along with 20 years of life coaching which have provided a wide spectrum of knowledge, skills and wisdom, able to be used in my work.

Spending time as a facilitator and faculty member with leadership programmes in NZ and the South Pacific with the New Zealand Institute of Management.  Not only exposed me to working with diversity and cultures of Australasia. It was the unpacking, facilitating and building self-awareness of the group dynamics, psychological profiling of individuals under time pressure situations reverting to type. All that was invaluable to helping me build understanding and empathy on ‘how people ticked’, how to build rapport, trust and respect.  The self-discovery for the participants and a new look on work and life was nothing but amazing. This lead me to develop and facilitate transformational leadership and mentoring programmes for organisations.

Over the years I have got involved with community and humanitarian work. Which brings its own discovery of self. This exposed me to see people and cultures in another light through the eyes of humility. Assisting young teenagers (unemployed and others coping with Aspergers) who had dropped out of the schooling system and were struggling to engage in society. To being a companion for cancer children, and a fund raising for women in the South Pacific and walking with a team of 3 other women to complete the 100km challenge for Oxfam. Recently, I went with another 31 women to Nepal with Habitat NZ and Nepal, to build houses for 5 poor women. The women in the village grew spices and walked 40km to get them ground. Our team provided a commercial grinder to support the village women to build their own sustainable business.
